O Holy Night
Did you know that the church in France once banned this beautiful Christmas carol? Placide Cappeau penned the lyrics as he imagined being present at the sacred birth of the Savior. His friend Adolphe Adams, who was not of the Christian faith, composed the poem into a song. Cappeau later fell away from his faith. For both these reasons, the church banned this beautiful carol. Were it not for the common people of France, who loved the song, it would have faded into obscurity. O Holy Night is truly a beautiful Christmas carol, loved, celebrated for centuries, and never to be forgotten!
